Bergamischi leaps to score Braishfield's 3rd goal

Bergamischi leaps to score Braishfield’s 3rd goal

Braishfield were looking to build on their hard fought midweek victory at Bemerton Heath with another 3 points at West Harnham on a very poor pitch

The away team started strongly and after 3 mins Jonny Palmer sprayed the ball out ‎to Cam Griffiths on the right wing who cut in and his shot from the edge of the box nestled in the corner of the goal

‎However, the hosts were level within a minute when a hopeful through ball was misread by the visitors’ defence and the West Harnham forward scored with Fin Gardiner rooted to his line

Braishfield had the better of exchanges, however some poor decision making and wayward passing almost allowed basement boys West Harnham to get a foothold in the game

‎However on 25 mins Braishfield won a throw on deep into the opposite half‎. Palmers’ throw in found Sam Briggs who laid the ball off to Griffiths who beat 2 defenders and slid the ball past the keeper to make it 2.1 to the visitors

Braishfield started the 2nd half slowly and on 40 mims Gardiner had to make a fine reaction save to maintain the 1 goal advantage

3mins later Palmer passed to Griffiths whose shot on the turn was pushed around the post by the busy home keeper

Braishfield increased their lead on 51mins following good work by Griffiths winning a corner on the left hand side. Will Poulter’s inch perfect corner was met by Henni Bergamischi‎ who rose unmarked and powered his header into the net to make it 3.1 to the visitors

The home team weren’t done for yet and straight from the kick off West Harnham picked up a loose ball and but for a sharp save by Gardiner they would have seen their lead halved

Griffiths almost scored a hat-trick when he shot on the left from 20yds only to hit the post and the ball bounced to safety. A minute later and Briggs too fell victim to the woodwork following his initial shot being parried by ‎the keeper and Harry Ockwell’s rebounded shot was blocked

‎Following good work by Griffiths working his way across the box on 64mins the ball broke to Jack Darnton whose lofted shot beat the oncoming keeper to make it 4

With 4 mins remaining Darnton turned provider laying the ball back to Palmer who slotted his shot in the corner to make it 5.1 to Braishfield

Braishfield scored a workmanlike, if not spectacular victory, on their ‎2nd of 3 consecutive away games

They are away to Hatch Warren on Wednesday 20th April and at home to Whitchurch on Saturday
