As a Club, we held our annual 6-a-side tournament on the 4th September and in line with our pledge to donate 5% of proceeds raised from team entry fees to health related charities, we raised £258 (thank you to all teams that attended).
The Club then agreed to match fund the monies up to £500 and as a result, two Charities will benefit from £250 each.
Today, Tom Moody (Vice Chairman) presented the first of the donations to Jane Scarth House who offer assistance to anyone who has/is affected by cancer and provide free services such as counselling, aromatherapy and reiki as well as the opportunity to drop in and talk in confidence to any of our befrienders.
Rachel Tucker Centre Manager said “We are so grateful to Braishfield Bees FC for donating monies raised from their annual tournament to Jane Scarth House in Romsey. It is so important in these challenging times that we support each other as a community and this donation will make a big impact to us – thank you Braishfield Bees FC”
Tournament Organiser, Julian Jones added “It is wonderful that we find ourselves in the enviable position whereby we can help such fantastic charities that do so much in the local area. As a Community Club we wanted to give something back to the community on the back of another successful event. Next year we hope to raise even more money for local good causes from what will be a 2 day event held over the weekend of 3rd/4th September 2022”
