aishfield Bees Youth FC held their 7th annual 6 a-side tournament over the weekend of 3rd/4th September, but this time with a couple of additions, being a 2 day event and with girls events for under 8s through to u16s
307 teams entered the event with clubs from Cardiff/Bath/Swindon/Essex/Kent/London and the Hampshire’s 5 neighbouring counties to make this tournament one of the largest of its’ kind in the South
Scouts from Chelsea FC, Bournemouth and Portsmouth attended to cast their eye over the feast of football with many a name being taken down for future reference
The weather was kind and the ice cream van, bbq and refreshments stalls did a roaring trade providing the 6,000 or so players, coaches and spectators with much needed nourishment between games
Ian Bates, Club Chairman, was quoted as saying “ the weather gods were kind to us and we were able to deliver a wonderful 2 day event enjoyed by clubs from far and wide as the word spreads about the appeal of our event. We hope to welcome back this years’ teams and some new faces in 2023 for what will be an even better event”
The organisers would like to thank all the volunteers, participants, sponsors (particularly Henshaw Fox Estate Agents) for their support throughout the year and particularly over the 2 days

The event was so successful that in Addition to the 5% of Entry fee proceeds pledged by the Club to local charities they will be match funding that sum up to a capped figure of £1,000 and they will be distributing those monies around the Community very shortly.
